September 1, 1990 — Some $4,000 worth of semi-automatic pistols were taken from a Luray business early Aug. 23. According to Investigator R.D. Strickler of the Luray Police Department, nine pistols of various calibers were taken from the Valley Sports store in the Jamesway Plaza Shopping Center. The front store window was broken and the pistols were taken from a glass counter within the store, police said. The power to the store also had been cut off, Strickler noted.
