November 1, 1990 — Local, regional and state officials are hoping that more area residents will use the new “Park and Ride” lot in Luray and go to work by carpool. The lot, built at a cost of $91,500 by the Virginia Department of Transportation, has been open since June. It has 105 regular parking spaces and five handicapped spaces.
“This is a way that the town gets some state tax money to come back to the locality in something tangible that we can use,” said Luray Town Manager Ronald Good.”
