Local school division among 11 honorees across the Commonwealth

WILLIAMSBURG, Nov. 20 — In Late November during the Virginia School Board Association (VSBA) annual convention, Page County Public Schools was one of 11 school divisions across the state recognized in the Excellence in Risk Management Awards presented by VAcorp.
VAcorp provides coverage and risk management services to school divisions, public entities, and related organizations across the Commonwealth. This marks the sixth year the awards have been presented.
The following VSBA-member school divisions were recognized today at the general session of the VSBA Annual Convention, held in Williamsburg.
| Property/Casualty • Student Population Less than 5,000 — Lancaster County Public Schools; Wythe County Public Schools; Page County Public Schools • Student Population 5,000-10,000 — Louisa County Public Schools; Franklin County Public Schools • Student Population More than 10,000 — Fauquier County Public Schools | Worker’s Compensation • Student Population Less than 5,000 — Nelson County Public Schools; West Point Public Schools; King and Queen County Public Schools • Student Population 5,000-10,000 — Prince George County Public Schools • Student Population More than 10,000 — Augusta County Public Schools |
“We are proud to celebrate school divisions that demonstrate excellence in risk management and a strong commitment to safety and injury prevention,” said Dr. Lee Brannon, Director of Schools at VAcorp. “Our goal is to continue supporting Virginia schools in building and maintaining the highest standards of safety practices.”
Virginia School Boards Association, a voluntary, nonpartisan organization of Virginia school boards, promotes excellence in public education through advocacy, training and services. The Association offers conferences, information, training, and counseling designed to meet the needs of the Commonwealth’s educational leaders.
