Age 92, Shenandoah, Va.

Pearl Annie Lam Comer, 92, of Shenandoah, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living in Luray.

Mrs. Comer was born October 16, 1933, in Rockingham County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Howard Arthur and Gladys Wyant Lam. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis “Jack” Comer; her son, Jeffery Comer, and a brother, Ray Lam.

Pearl was a graduate of Elkton High School and a member of Mt. Lebanon Church of Christ in Shenandoah. She was employed with Genie Company as a Quality Control Inspector, retiring after 35 years of service. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching NASCAR, especially #24 Jeff Gordon, and listening to live Bluegrass music on Tuesday nights in Elkton.

She is survived by her brother, Archie Lam and wife, Rose of Elkton; a special niece, Mary Ann Lam Shifflett; her special friend, Judy Comer, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Friday, January 2, 2026, at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, with The Reverend James Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Church of Christ Cemetery in Shenandoah. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Whispering Pines Assisted Living and to Gentiva Hospice for the excellent care that they provided for Mrs. Comer.
