~ Athlete of the Week selected by the publisher
SHENANDOAH — Page County High School’s Hunter Pettit earns back-to-back honors as “Athlete of the Week” after scoring five touchdowns in the Panthers’ 38-22 homecoming victory over Mt. View last Friday night at Buddy Comer Stadium.
The senior quarterback rushed for 102 yards on the ground, while also going 7-of-16 through the air for another 122 yards. As if that wasn’t enough, the two-way player also recorded a timely interception on defense that stopped a fourth-quarter drive by the Generals and three plays later resulted in a Panther touchdown.
Pettit has now scored seven rushing touchdowns in the last two weeks, while going 14-for-30 (46.7 percent) through the air for 252 yards.
