Phillip Leonard Rinaca, 80, of Shenandoah, Virginia, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024. He was born July 6, 1944, in Maryland and was the son of the late Inman I. Rinaca and Hazel M. Lilly Rinaca.

Phillip was employed with Wallace Business Forms in Luray from where he retired after 25 years. He was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ and Massanutten Hunt Club. Phillip was an amateur (ham) radio operator for over 50 years with the call number KQ4D. He valued the conversations and friendships made with operators throughout the world. 

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Jones Rinaca; daughter, Debbie Beramki of Staunton; stepson, Mark Davis and wife, Tracey of Shenandoah; three grandchildren, Brian Cubbage and Cara Dajoro and husband, John, all of California, and Abbey Burch and husband, Tyler of Staunton; two special grandchildren, Tori Davis and Ty Davis of Shenandoah; a brother, Darrell Rinaca and wife, Teree of Grottoes; two sisters, Carolyn Terrell of South Carolina and Martha Comer and husband, Don of Shenandoah; brother-in-law, Phillip Monger of Elkton; sisters-in-law, Linda Clem of Stanardsville and Carolyn Alexander of Shenandoah, and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Monger and a stepdaughter, Beth Allen and her husband, Charles.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Pastor Dan Bassett officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.
