April 20, 1987 — The Virginia Division of Parks and Recreation is considering sites in Page and Warren counties for a state park on the Shenandoah River. County Administrator Ronald Good told Page’s supervisors Monday that two potential Page sites have been identified in a feasibility study at Burner’s Ford and Indian Grave Ridge. The Division of Parks and Recreation reportedly initially approached Clarke County, but was rebuffed and broadened the study to include Page and Warren counties. The Burner’s Ford site is located off U.S. 340 and Va. 664 near the Page-Warren line. Indian Grave Ridge is located on the other side of the river, inside George Washington National Forest. That site would be accessible through Bixler’s Ferry Bridge and Va. 684 north.
