NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
LURAY TOWN COUNCIL
POTENTIAL DISPOSITION OF PUBLIC REAL PROPERTY
NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to §§ 15.2-1800(B) and 15.2-1813 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, that the Luray Town Council shall hold a public hearing on September 24, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. The public hearing shall be conducted in the Luray Town Council Chambers located at 45 East Main Street in the Town of Luray, Virginia.
Public comment may also be submitted until 12:00 P.M. on September 24, 2024, through any of the following means: Email:bchrisman@townofluray.com; Mail: Luray Town Manager, Post Office Box 629, Luray, Virginia, 22835; Hand delivery: Place in the exterior DROP BOX in the alcove located at the front of the Town’s offices facing Main Street; or Phone: (540) 743-5511. All comments must include the commentor’s name and address to be read aloud at the hearing. This hearing will be live streamed on the Town’s website and Facebook Live page. All normal Rules of Procedure will be followed.
The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comments concerning the following:
The Town has received a request from the contract purchaser for real property located at 15 Campbell Street and identified as Tax Map Nos. 42A11-10-7, 42A11-10-8, 42A11-A-189, and 42A11-A-190 (collectively, the “Property”) for a parking license in connection with the proposed development of the Property. The parking license would reserve up to 11 public parking spaces for exclusive use by future residents of the Property between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. Nine of the parking spaces that are the subject of the request are located along the Property’s boundary with Virginia Avenue. The two remaining parking spaces are located on the rear of real property owned by the Town and identified as Tax Map No. 42A11-A-154A. The term of the license is five years with the possibility of renewal. In exchange, 10 parking spaces located on the northeast portion of the Property would be made available for public use between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
