STANLEY — Representatives of the American Red Cross of the Greater Shenandoah Valley will be on hand at the Stanley fire hall on Friday and Saturday to meet with community partners, provide training for emergency shelters, host an open house for volunteers, and take requests for free smoke alarm installations.
This week’s community outreach in Page County is aimed at improving the organization’s volunteer network and incident readiness in case of an emergency situation. Coordination with local agencies and local volunteers is crucial to the functions of the Red Cross in times of disaster.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Friday, June 13 — 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- 9-10:30 a.m. — Community Partnerships Meeting
- 11 a.m. – noon — Shelter Overview Training
- 1-3 p.m. — Red Cross Volunteer Open House
