Robbery backfires

September 18, 1961 — An attempted robbery of the Luray ABC store on Thursday night of last week yielded nothing but some cuts and bruises and a few days in the Page County Jail. The pair attempted to enter the ABC Store after midnight by cutting the glass in the front door.The door, however, is equipped with a double lock and attempts to unlock from the inside merely resulted in more cuts from the edges of the glass. The attempted entering was discovered by police and arrests followed.
