Robin Deanne Good

Age 53, Rileyville, Va.

Robin Deanne Good, 53, of Rileyville, Virginia, sailed through the stars to the moon of sleep on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, and decided she loved it so much she was going to hang out there and wait for her friends and family to arrive.

Deanne was brought to this earth with a smile on her face since February 24, 1971. She was raised to be the strong, confident woman she was by mother, Barbara Ruffner Thompson, and her grandparents, Robert and Roberta Ruffner, who all waited gleefully for her to arrive in the great beyond so they could eat and pick steam crabs all together again. She was also so loved by her aunts, Donna Miller and Joan Shovar, who will miss their niece so dearly.

A lifelong Page County resident, she graduated from LHS and then set off to explore the world. She traveled the country with her friends and came back to Luray and worked a little bit of everywhere for a while until she brought two new smiling faces into this world, her daughters Hali Emmons and Andrea Good-Brown, life-long Page County residents like their mom. Raising her daughters was truly one of the best things that ever happened in her life. She loved her girls beyond belief and instilled in them her hard work ethic, determination, kindness, and love of life. She was blessed with having one of best gifts in life, a beautiful grandchild, Callan. Callan was so loved by her “Nani” and she was Deanne’s pride and joy. Everywhere she went and everyone she talked to, she had new pictures of her and could talk about her for hours. When she actually had some time to take for herself, she found a new community of friends in Frederick and Baltimore, Maryland, with her metal scene. She loved going to escape busy life and hang out with her friends and listen to her favorite music.

Deanne was so, so loved by most everyone in this community. She loved providing service to just about everyone in Luray through her multiple serving positions throughout town. (She couldn’t go anywhere without someone recognizing her or stopping her to say hello.) She loved and cared deeply for all the family and friends she made along her journey in life. Deanne was one of the strongest women anyone could ever meet. Through love, loss, sickness, and new normals, she always exemplified what it meant to be “Movin’ Right Along” as her beloved Muppets sang. In addition to her strong-willed soul, she also had one of the kindest hearts. Whether she grew up with you or you were a new transfer to Page County, Deanne always met everyone with a smile, a kind word, and usually a joke to go along with it.

Deanne’s bright and shining light was blown out far too early. Her family and friends are heartbroken to miss her in her physical form, but if you knew Deanne, you know she would have not wanted anyone to stay sad for too long. Her spirit will live on in each and every life she touched.

The family is still reeling from her loss, so they will let the public know of a celebration of life for her in the far future.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks if everyone could turn her loving and giving spirit toward this community. Support your local businesses, support local non-profits, and support your friends and neighbors. And above all, support your dreams and passions. Deanne would tell you to go out and do the things you’ve been wanting to start but just haven’t yet!

Arrangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
