Age 71, Shenandoah, Va.
Ronald Wayne Pembelton Sr., 71, of Shenandoah, VA passed away Monday, March 2, 2026 at his home. He was born December 11, 1954 in Farmville, VA and was the son of the late William Lester and Opal Pembelton and Gloria Ashworth Pembelton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Arabella Rose Nelson and a son, Wayne Lee Shore.
Ronald was a member of Bear Lithia Springs Baptist Church in Elkton for many years. He loved Nascar and was a big Jeff Gordon and William Byron fan. Ronald worked 30 years in the trucking business. He loved classic cars; he would buy them to restore and fix them up. He was a homebody and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Mary “Jeannie” Pembelton; son, Ronald W. Pembelton, Jr. and wife, Sarah; daughter, Lisa M. Shore; brother, Jeff Pembelton and wife, Rebecca; sister, Lynda Addison; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be conducted 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Bear Lithia Springs Baptist Church in Elkton, with Pastor Mark Leatherman officiating. Burial to follow at Bear Lithia Springs Baptist Church cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
