Age 91, Stanley, Va.
Rosa Mae Breeden Alger, 91, of Stanley, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Life Care Center in New Market.
She was born on May 9, 1934, in Page County and was a daughter of the late Herbert K. Breeden and Nora Lee Painter Breeden.
Rosa was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Stanley.
On October 1, 1955, she married William Robert Alger Jr., who survives.
In addition to her husband, Rosa is survived by a son, Randal Lee Alger and wife Kathryn of McGaheysville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Kevin Alger; two sisters, Iva Marie Comer and Charlene Campbell; and two brothers, Floyd Breeden and Herbert Allen Breeden.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, at the Fellowship Baptist Church by the Rev. Donnie Sherfey, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Seekford Family Cemetery in Stanley.
