February 17, 1887 — Two horses attached to a covered vehicle, the outfit belonging to Mr. R.T. Brumback, of Cedar Point, took fright in Luray last Monday at a passing train, and ran from Messers. Jamison and Co.’s store to a point some distance west of the bridge.
In their course they ran into a team belonging to Mr. I.N. Oak, breaking the tongue to his wagon and badly injuring one of his horses. Mr. Brumback’s wagon and horses were not injured.
George Lee’s apple cart was also upset in the race but suffered little damage.
