Runaway team

March 16, 1887 — The team attached to the Hotel Laurance hack, by the careless negligence of the driver, took fright at the depot last Thursday and ran away. The race to overtake it was a long and exciting one. The team was not recaptured till it had run some distance below Mr. Jos. H. Reid’s, north of town, when Mr. Geo. Burrill, who was one of the pursuers, overtook it. Strange, considering the distance and violent gait, neither the hack nor horses were much damaged — the horses not at all, in fact.
