Sandra Joyce Porter Grey

Age 72, Luray, Va.

Sandra Joyce Porter Grey, 72, of Luray, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

She was born on July 26, 1952, in Luray and was the daughter of the late Ruth Virginia Porter, granddaughter of the late Julia Anna Porter and beloved niece of the late Jesse Lee Porter.

Her husband of over 25 years, Neville Carlton Grey, died on September 22, 2022. They resided in Martinsburg, West Virginia until his death at that time Sandra returned to Luray.

Sandra is survived by two sons, Patrick Porter of Luray, and Neil Porter and wife Ashton of Elkton;

Seven sisters, Terri Washington of Charlottesville, Pamela Porter, Deborah Porter, Mary Jones and Deborah Washington, all of Luray, Celadore Washington of Greensboro, NC, and Marjorie Washington of Alexandria; 

Four brothers, John Washington and Marion Washington, both of Washington, D.C., Rodney Washington of Fishersville, and Ronald Washington of Fredericksburg; 

Ten grandchildren, Neiluna Porter, Neilliza Porter, Neiljari Porter, Lamaya Custer, Jada Porter, Monroe Gray, Neil Pacheco, Cheryl Deal, Patrick Porter, Jr. and Lebron Payton. 

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Jerry “Popeye” Porter, Jeffrey Washington, Melvin Washington, Randolph Washington and James “Mousey” Washington; and two sisters, Marie “Sue” Washington and Gloria Jean Washington.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, at the Bradley Funeral Home by Pastor Audre King, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery in Luray.
