Age 70, Elkton, Va.
Sharon Ann Taylor, 70, of Elkton, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025, at her home. She was born September 25, 1954, in Page County and was the daughter of the late Elwood and Nadine J. McAlister Hammer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion, Omihlee “Donnie” Crawford; daughter, Melissa Ann Crawford; sister, Ann Meadows, and her brothers, William Hammer, Robert Hammer and Bobby Hammer.
Sharon loved to garden and do yard work. She loved flowers, playing rummy and playing the lottery. Sharon especially loved spending time with her grandson. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her grandson, Mason Lee Meadows; son-in-law, Larry “Scooter” Meadows; brothers, Alan Hammer and Clyde Hammer; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. A special thank you to Chris Freeze for all his help and compassion over the last few months; and a special thank you to Legacy Hospice, Loretta, Jill and Leigh for their compassion and care of Sharon.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at McAlister Family Cemetery in Shenandoah with Pastor Curtis Crawford officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
