Outscored opponents 40-2 in state tournament

GLEN ALLEN, July 15 — The Shenandoah Recreation League claimed its second state title of the summer on Monday as the 12U softball all stars won the 2024 Virginia Babe Ruth State Softball Championship.
The Shenandoah all stars kicked-off the state tournament on Thursday, July 11 with a 31-0 victory and worked their way through the seven-team, double-elimination bracket undefeated, outscoring their opponents 40-2.
Shenandoah defeated Manassas, 4-0, in the state title game, after defeating them 5-2 in the previous game. Shenandoah’s Jaycee Eppard earned Most Valuable Player honors in the state tournament.
The five-day tournament featured rain delays and 100-plus-degree heat.
“They have definitely made Shenandoah proud!” reads a post on Shenandoah Rec League’s social media page. “To the ones that will be aging out, THANK YOU for letting us be a part of your journey with falling in love with the game. We will miss you, but we know each of you have such a bright future and are ready to see you at the next level. We wish you the best of luck, and don’t forget to come back and see us. Congratulations to our girls and coaches, way to represent!”
