Age 67, Luray, Va.
Shirley Kathryn Perley, 67, of Luray, died Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Winchester Medical Center. She was born June 12, 1956 in Remington, VA to the late James Oscar and Sylvia Lee Sisk.
Kathryn worked professionally in property management at Gates Hudson for over 42 years. She was hard working, dedicated, and kind hearted but strong, fierce, and respected. From growing up in a small country town in Sperryville to the epitome of making it the big city, she strived in whatever she put her heart and mind to. Kathryn was a pillar of our family. An exceptional homemaker. Her home was always open, as well as her arms, and heart. As we all knew well, if you left her home hungry that was your fault. Lord she could cook. She would never hesitate to lend an ear followed by a kind word, and a giggle for your gut. Many looked to her for guidance, laughter, as well as a shoulder to cry on. She shared in your worries and sheltered our burdens.
Kathryn was so loved by so many. Her life revolved around her family. She spent many of her days surrounded by her loved ones around a table chatting it up or on the phone. She loved the beach and had many fond memories with so many with an ocean view. She found joy in painting, playing cards, and overall time spent with those she loved. She was loving, caring, loyal, dedicated, an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She always put others before herself.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Perley; her three daughters, Gina Nicole, Lindsey Jean, and Jessica Ann; her three granddaughters, Natalie Danielle, Alexa Lianna, and Lilith “Lily” Katlyn; her three step-grandchildren, Dominic Steven, Addison Shayne, and Lennon Danielle; six siblings, Josie Mildred Blakley, James Lee “Buddy” Sisk, Ann Grandstaff, Ray Sisk, Johnny Sisk, and Judy Sisk; as well as her so many “adopted” children, grandchildren, and siblings.
