Smoke Alarm Awareness Day on Aug. 2

STANLEY — The Page County Fire and Rescue Association, along with the American Red Cross will be hosting a Smoke Alarm Awareness Day event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stanley Fire Hall.
Representatives from the Luray, Shenandoah and Stanley volunteer fire departments will join representatives from the American Red Cross to promote the importance of having a smoke alarm in homes and businesses all across the county.
During the event, the American Red Cross will be collecting names, addresses and contact information from individuals in need of a FREE smoke alarm. A date and time will then be scheduled for installation.
“If you do not currently have a smoke alarm, this is a great opportunity to begin protecting your home and loved ones,” said Terry Pettit, president of the Page County Fire and Rescue Association.
The Stanley Fire Hall is located at 190 E. Main St., Stanley.
