October 14, 1965 — A 1960 Falcon station wagon belonging to Clifton Campbell of Luray was stolen where it was parked near the Luray Church of the Brethren Sunday night.

The vehicle was found near the home of Clifford Smith on the old road back of the VFW ball park about 11 a.m. Monday by Luray Police Chief H.S. Farrar. The station wagon was partially resting in a ditch. Police believe it could have slipped into the ditch when an effort was made to back it up or turn it around.

Mr. Campbell said his wife had driven the station wagon to the church about 7:30 p.m. The theft was discovered about 8:30. He stated that several other cars parked at or near the church had been tampered with the same night.

Investigation of the theft is being continued by the Luray Police Department.
