Strangulation, child abuse, assault among September indictments

16 individuals receive 29 indictments; 72 percent of charges drug-related

LURAY, Sept. 4 — Members of a grand jury in Page County Circuit Court issued a true bill on a total of 29 indictments handed down Wednesday, Sept. 4 on charges placed among 16 individuals.

Those indicted by the September 4 grand jury include:

• Trenton David Cook, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on two Class 6 felonies for wounding by strangulation with injury resulting, a third Class 6 felony for child abuse or disregard for life, a Class 1 misdemeanor for assault and battery of a family member, and a Class 1 misdemeanor for pointing or brandishing a firearm. The assault and both strangulation charges occurred on April 1, 2024, according to court records, with an arrest on April 16, 2024. The child abuse and brandishing a firearm charges occurred on Aug. 1, 2023, according to court records, with the same arrest date. Cook is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025 for a jury trial.

Wesley Aaron Mitchell, of Luray, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for possession with the intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug, and three Class 5 felonies for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. All four drugs charges occurred in 2023, according to court records, on Feb. 21 (arrest same day), July 7 (arrest Oct. 20), July 22 (arrest Dec. 17), and Aug. 14 (arrest same day). Mitchell was scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024 for a hearing.

Craig James Danley Jr., of Stanley and Rileyville, Va., was indicted on four Class 5 felonies for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. One drug possession charge (with a Stanley address listed for Danley) occurred on April 30, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on Dec. 17, 2023. The other three drug charges (with a Rileyville address listed for Danley) occurred on Dec. 15, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on May 5, 2024. Danley is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024 for a hearing.

Misty Lee Riggleman, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on two Class 5 felonies for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Both offenses occurred on Dec. 21, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest in January 2024. Riggleman is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2024 for a status hearing.

Douglas S. Roudabush, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug, and a Class 6 felony for the possession of a gun while in possession of a Schedule I/II drug. Both offenses occurred on Jan. 18, 2024, according to court records, with an arrest on Jan. 23, 2024. Roudabush is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024 for a hearing.

Carroll Anthony Stillwell, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. He also received a direct indictment on a Class 2 misdemeanor for driving with a suspended license and no insurance. Both offenses occurred on May 10, 2024, according to court records, with an arrest on Sept. 7, 2024. Stillwell is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, for a hearing.

Mark Allen Weaver, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for the assault and battery of a family member (third or subsequent offense). The offense occurred on Feb. 18, 2024, according to court records, with an arrest on Feb. 23, 2024. A capias warrant was issued for his arrest on Sept. 11. Weaver is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025 for a hearing.

• Curtis Lee Wright, of Elkton, Va., was indicted on a Class 6 felony for the reckless handling of a gun causing permanent or serious bodily injury. The offense occurred on Dec. 2, 2023, according to court records, with an arrest on Feb. 21, 2024. Wright is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2024 to enter a plea.

• Mark Edwin Breeden, of Penn Laird, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for distributing or selling for profit a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on March 11, 2024, according to court records, with an arrest on Sept. 5, 2024. Breeden was arrested on a capias warrant on Sept. 4 and is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, 2024 to appoint counsel.

• David Wade Lam, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on March 25, 2024, according to court records, with an arrest on June 21, 2024. Lam is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024 for a hearing.

• Cody Dwayne Shuler, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on an unclassified felony for possession with intent to manufacture a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on May 30, 2024, according to court records. Shuler is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024 for a hearing.

• Christopher Tyrone Jones, of Elkton, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on June 13, 2024, according to court records. Jones is scheduled to appear in court again at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 to enter a plea.

• Jerry Elwood Petefish III, of Stanley, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for the possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense occurred on Aug. 1, 2024, according to court records, with an arrest on Aug. 2, 2024. Petefish is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024 for a hearing.

• Shane Aaron Price, of Shenandoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on June 6, 2024, according to court records. Price is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024 for a jury trial.

• Eric Jennings Stanley, of Shenndoah, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on June 24, 2024, according to court records. Stanley is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024 for a hearing.

• Tabatha (a.k.a. Tabitha) Lynae Williams, of Elkton, Va., was indicted on a Class 5 felony for possession of a Schedule I/II drug. The offense and an arrest occurred on May 31, 2024, according to court records. Williams is scheduled to appear in court again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024 for a hearing.

Grand jury hearings are held the first Wednesday of each month in Page County Circuit Court.
