Superintendent takes ‘unexpected leave of absence’

Dr. Paul Johnson to serve as Acting Superintendent in Dr. Huber’s absence

LURAY, Nov. 6 — Page County Public Schools issued the following notice to parents, guardians and community members on Thursday evening:

“Page County Public Schools Superintendent, Dr. Bryan Huber, has taken an extended and unexpected leave of absence. In the interim, the Page County School Board has appointed Dr. Paul Johnson as Acting Superintendent. The School Board wishes Dr. Huber the very best while he is on leave. The School Board expresses its deepest appreciation to Dr. Johnsons for his willingness to step into this role on short notice. The School Board is confident in Dr. Johnson’s ability to provide consistent and professional leadership to Page County Public Schools during this time. Please direct all business inquiries related to the Superintendent’s Office to Dr. Johnson while Dr. Huber is unavailable.”

No further information has been provided into the reason behind Dr. Huber’s sudden absence, or how long his leave will last.
