Telephones installed to get Jollet ‘in touch’

September 30, 1962 — Telephones are now installed at Jollett in the SIW District and this one isolated community of the county is now “in touch.” It has been necessary in years past for election officials to bring the precinct books in or journey to a telephone some miles away, to make contact with election headquarters. Not so now, all one has to do is take up the receiver and there is the rest of the county as “close as the telephone.”
