Age 89, Stanley, Va.
Thomas Leroy Foster Sr., 89, of Stanley, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Sentara RMH Medical Center.
He was born on March 8, 1935, in Luray and was a son of the late Everett Ezra Foster and Sallie Elizabeth Hoak Foster.
Thomas was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Riverview Independent Gospel Church.
On October 18, 1958, Thomas married Brownie Elizabeth Cubbage Foster, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Robin Foster of Stanley; a son, Timmy Foster Jr. of Stanley; two brothers, Paul J. Foster and Roy Allen Foster, both of Stanley; four grandchildren, Steven Courtney of Broadway, Amber Shenk of Stanley, Bo Courtney of Manassas, and T.J. Foster of Stanley; and two great-grandchildren, Wendy and Micah Courtney. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Elizabeth Judd and Mildred Baker; and two brothers, Elwood C. Foster and William Everest Foster.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
