STAUNTON — The following is a list of Page County highway work that may affect traffic in the Staunton transportation district during the coming weeks.
The Staunton District consists of 11 counties from the Alleghany Highlands to the northern Shenandoah Valley: Alleghany, Bath, Rockbridge, Highland, Augusta, Rockingham, Page, Shenandoah, Frederick, Clarke and Warren.
Scheduled work is subject to change due to inclement weather and material supplies. Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving tractors during mowing operations. When traveling through a work zone, be alert to periodic changes in traffic patterns and lane closures.
*NEW* Route 211 (Lee Highway) – Shoulder closures near Rappahannock County line for sign work, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Route 340 (Fourth Street/North 5th Street, Shenandoah) – Shoulder closures between Route 708 (Shenandoah Avenue) and Route 1012 (Edge Wood Drive) for pole replacement, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Thursday.
Route 340 – Flagger traffic control between Route 664 (Carvell Road) and Route 661 (Redwood Drive) for utility work, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through September 30.
Route 340 – Flagger traffic control between Route 648 (Sandy Hook Road) and Route 660 (Kibler Hill Road) for utility work, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through September 26.
Various roads – Mobile traffic control for mowing operations. Flagger traffic control for pipe replacement, ditch work, tree removal, shoulder repairs, pavement patching and brush cutting, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.
