STAUNTON — The following is a list of Page County highway work that may affect traffic in the Staunton transportation district during the coming weeks.

The Staunton District consists of 11 counties from the Alleghany Highlands to the northern Shenandoah Valley: Alleghany, Bath, Rockbridge, Highland, Augusta, Rockingham, Page, Shenandoah, Frederick, Clarke and Warren.

Scheduled work is subject to change due to inclement weather and material supplies. Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving tractors during mowing operations. When traveling through a work zone, be alert to periodic changes in traffic patterns and lane closures.

PRIMARY ROADS

*NEW* Route 340 – Flagger traffic control between Route 613 (Strole Farm Road) and Shenandoah County line for utility pole replacement, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

*UPDATE* Route 340 – Flagger traffic control between Route 648 (Sandy Hook Road) and Route 660 (Kibler Hill Road) for utility work, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through October 31. 

Route 340 – Flagger traffic control between Route 664 (Carvell Road) and Route 661 (Redwood Drive) for utility work, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Tuesday.  

Various roads – Mobile traffic control for mowing operations. Flagger traffic control for pipe replacement, ditch work, tree removal, shoulder repairs, pavement patching and brush cutting, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays.

SECONDARY ROADS

Route 684 (South Page Valley Road) – Stop-and-proceed traffic control about three miles north of Route 675 (Bixler’s Ferry Road) for slope repairs, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through October 15.

Various roads – Flagger traffic control for brush cutting and pipe cleaning, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.
