LURAY, Sept. 19 — On Friday, ten Valley Health employees volunteered at Page One’s Thrift Store on Main Street in Luray as part of the United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley’s Day of Caring — an annual event that mobilizes hundreds of volunteers to complete service projects across the region.
United Way NSV works year-round to improve health, education, and financial stability for families across Winchester, Frederick, Clarke, Warren, Shenandoah, and Page counties. By bringing together businesses, nonprofits, and volunteers, it channels resources into programs that strengthen the Valley community.
Day of Caring is more than one day of service — it’s neighbors showing up for neighbors. From painting classrooms to packing food, volunteers demonstrate what it means to live in a Valley that cares.
The project also highlights the connection between Valley Health and Page One. Both Valley Health and Page One look beyond clinical care to the social determinants of health — such as housing, transportation, food security, and financial stability.
Through its thrift store, Page One turns everyday purchases into lifelines for families in need — because United is the Way.
