WINCHESTER, Sept. 9 — Mark Nantz, President and CEO of Valley Health System, has been honored for the third consecutive year in Virginia Business magazine’s prestigious “Virginia 500” list. This annual listing recognizes top leaders across business, government, and higher education in the Commonwealth. Nantz is one of 28 distinguished leaders selected from the Healthcare/Biotech/Pharmaceutical sector.
“I’m honored to be among this distinguished group of leaders who strive to enhance and uplift the lives of Virginians throughout the commonwealth,” Nantz said. “I can’t say enough about the dedicated caregivers we have at all our locations. I am so proud to work with such passionate individuals who are committed to serving our community and ensuring our patients receive high-quality, compassionate care.”
Nantz oversees six hospitals, including two in West Virginia and four in Virginia, and over 6,000 employees. He joined Valley Health in 2020, in the third month of the COVID-19 pandemic. His focus is on ensuring a culture of employee and patient safety, financial stability, and strong connection to purpose.
“The Virginia 500 not only showcases the dedication of these leaders but also highlights their profound impact on our economy and community,” stated Richard Foster, editor and chief content officer. “Our aim is to offer an insightful glimpse into the lives and achievements of these prominent figures.”
Individuals are not nominated for the Power List, but are instead selected by the magazine’s editorial staff. A subsidiary publication of BridgeTower Media, Virginia Business is the leading source of business news and intelligence for the state’s business community, providing essential news and analysis to help professionals stay informed about the latest trends and issues affecting their industries.
