December 30, 1965 — Three churches in Shenandoah were entered by vandals last week, it has been reported. As far as this newspaper could learn, nothing of value was stolen. However, church property was damaged in each instance. Entrance was gained by forcing doors open. A piece of paneling on the altar of the First Christian Church was broken and other articles damaged. Packages prepared for the Christmas program at the First Baptist Church were torn open and the contents scattered. There was nothing of value in the packages as they were merely props for the program. St. Peter’s Lutheran Church was also entered but the amount of damages or loss could not be learned.
