By Randy Arrington
LURAY, Feb. 19 — This week we sit down with Luray High School boys basketball coach Matt Huff to discuss the Bulldogs’ pursuit of a second-straight Region B championship and another trip to the VHSL Class 2 state tournament.
Coach Huff talks about the recent rise of Luray’s boys basketball program, the players that made it possible, the upcoming Bull Run District championship game against top-ranked Central, and the potential of playing rival Page County three times in 12 days.
(Page Valley Livin’ ~ Episode 58 was recorded on Monday, Feb. 17, and first aired Wednesday, Feb. 19).
Coming up on Page Valley Livin’… we have a special episode planned for Feb. 26 — the fourth anniversary of the shooting of Stanley Police Officer “Nic” Winum. We’ll talk with Stanley Police Chief Ryan Dean and Officer Winum’s widow, Kara, about the legacy that the dedicated police officer left behind.
The aim and purpose of these videos is to provide more information about more things that make up the wonderful place we call the Page Valley of Virginia. Serious issues will be handled seriously, while lighter issues may offer more opportunity to have some fun. There is no theme or agenda other than promoting the Page Valley, and trying to better inform the people who both live here and those who love to visit.
