Morris and Kline post ‘double-double’ performances

LURAY, Dec. 11 — Mount Carmel Christian Academy’s varsity girls basketball team dominated Mountain View Christian Academy on Thursday night, 57-26. The Warriors delivered a strong wire-to-wire performance and controlled the game through all four quarters.
Sophomore Haelyn Morris lead the charge with an exceptional all-around effort and was one assist away from posting a triple-double. Morris scored 24 points, while also recording 10 steals and nine assists.
Chloe Kline made a major impact in the paint, finishing with her own double-double. Kline put up 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Warriors’ balanced attack continued with Darbi Hunsberger adding 14 points, while Rebekah Shifflett contributed eight points, rounding out a strong team effort.
The visitors from Winchester made a push in the third quarter of Thursday night’s game, trimming the lead to nine before the Warriors regained full momentum. MCCA’s defensive pressure, ball movement, and depth proved too much for Mountain View as the Warriors closed out the night with a commanding 57–26 win.
