November 21, 1961 — J. Earl Kibler, co-owner and operator of the Center Market, has been confined to his home for several weeks with a back injury. 

Mrs. Julian Price is ill at her home on South Court Street. 

Miss Barbara Harlin, a student at RPI, Richmond, has been confined to the infirmary, due to illness. 

The new parsonage of the Main Street Baptist Church will be dedicated Sunday, Nov. 26. 

The grand opening of the Stanley Car and Home Store, owned by Louis Royston, was held Thursday, Friday and Saturday of last week. Roses were given the ladies, lollipops to the kiddies and key caddies to the men. 

A number of black bear have been seen recently in the Blue Ridge. 

Mrs. James Sours fell and broke her arm. 

Miss Gladys Dennis hasacceptedapositionas secretary at the Northern Virginia Power Company at Luray. 

Mrs. K.G. Dobbs slipped and fell on the floor at her home and broke her right wrist. 

Mrs. J.E. Hatfield, who has been suffering from a severe case of arthritis in her right hand, is improving. 

Mrs. John Whiteside Jr. underwent ear surgery Monday at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. 

Harry Lansberry had the misfortune to fall recently and broke several ribs. 

Peggy, daughter of Mrs. Agnes Taylor, was on the sick list last week. 

Mrs. Flora Judy is a patient in the P.M. Hospital. 

Hubert Alger is improving the looks of the Bertie Huffman property near Alma.
