Age 89, Keswick, Va.
William “Bill” Daniel Abbott Jr., 89, of Keswick, passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville.
He was born on July 23, 1936, in Luray and was a son of the late William Abbott and Ruth Ann Dickson Abbott.
Bill was a driver for Trailways for 25 years and worked as a transport driver for Tiger Fuel for another 20 years.
On December 22, 1956, he married Annette Varner Abbott, who survives.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by a daughter, Julie Ann Abbott-Haynes (John Haynes) of Charlottesville; a sister, Barbara Wilson (David Wison) of Rileyville; and two granddaughters, Elizabeth Haynes and Amanda Haynes, both of Charlottesville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold “Micky” Abbott and Kenneth Dale Abbott.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, at the Luray Seventh-day Adventist Church by Pastor Mike Propes and Dr. Chris Martin, with visitation one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m. Burial will be in the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
