August 13, 1911 — One of the fastest and most exciting games of baseball seen in Page Valley in many a day took place on the Shenandoah diamond Tuesday afternoon when the Stanley baseball team was defeated by the Shenandoah YMCA team.
Printz as usual pitched an excellent game playing without an error and striking out 14 men and only allowing two men to steal and held his opponents to four hits; while Jenkins was touched for eight hits, but struck out eight men. It can readily be seen it was a fast game for it only took one hour and 20 minutes to play the nine innings.
Secretary W.F. Abriel who is the manager and H. Cook the captain deserve much credit in the way they handle their team. The running catch of Mayes and the catching of Beasley were strong features of the game.
