LURAY — An associate producer with the History Channel’s hit series American Pickers alerted local officials recently that the antique hunters will be coming to Virginia in March.
The Jan. 19 email sent to the Luray-Page County Chamber of Commerce sought to encourage recommendations for where the show’s star Mike Wolfe should stop and start pickin’.
“We’re looking for leads throughout the state, specifically interesting characters with fascinating items and lots of them,” associate producer Lynneisha Charles stated in the email. “The way we find people and collections for our show is through spreading the word far and wide so that people know we’re coming to town.”
The show only chooses private collections. No stores, malls, flea markets, museums, auctions, businesses or anything open to the public will be considered.
“We are looking for different, unusual, and unique items,” the email continues, “something we’ve never seen before with an extraordinary story!”
Collectors interested in being considered for the show should reach out by phone at (646) 493-2184 or send an email to AmericanPickers@cineflix.com. Be sure to include full name, town, state, contact information, and a brief description of their collection.
