Angelique “Angie” Barentine Mirro, 56, of the Town of Shenandoah, formerly of Northern Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg, VA.
Angie was born, June 1, 1965, in Alexandria, VA and was the daughter of Jane L. Rawlings Barentine and the late, Max E. Barentine. She was also preceded in death by her beloved maternal grandparents, Harry Rawlings and Mable Favill Rawlings.
Angie was a graduate of Woodbridge Senior High School with the class of 1984. She worked at Kay Jewelers from 1984 to 1987. From 1987 to 1997, Angie worked at the Pentagon as a U.S. Navy Civilian and then MCB Quantico as a U.S. Marine Corps Civilian. Angie retired in June 2015 as a GS-14 Operations Officer for the G-6. She attended Church of the Valley after moving to Page County, VA.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Rachel N. Smith and husband, Gary W.; son, James V.F. Mirro and fiancée, Angeline Wilt; brother, Marc A. Barentine; uncles, Robert Rawlings and Jackie Barentine; niece and nephews, Amber, Jason, Brandon, and Bryan Barentine; God Child, Evie Clow, as well as numerous extended family and friends.
Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Duck Run Natural Cemetery, 1886 Windswept Ln., Penn Laird, VA 22846. Note: There are no restrooms on the property and some walking in the grass is required.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 12 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Church of the Valley, 6859 U.S. Hwy 340, Shenandoah, VA, 22849, with Pastor Jim Bebber officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, P.O. Box 96105, Washington, DC, 20090-6105.
Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, VA.
