LURAY — Luray High School sophomore Cason Bryant scored back-to-back rushing touchdowns for the Bulldogs in the first half of Friday night’s, 28-22, overtime win at Buffalo Gap.

Bryant would lead Luray’s ground game with 87 yards on 10 carries for the night — an average of 8.7 yards per carry — but the standout sophomore posted 76 yards and two touchdowns in just his first four carries.

Bryant broke out as a freshman last year, and although he got few touches behind then-senior running backs Brady Jenkins and Kenny Frye, he turned a few heads and made the most out of the few opportunities he received. This season, the sophomore running back still doesn’t get the highest number of carries, but he continues to make the most out of the ones he does.
