February 13, 1986 — PROPEL, the citizens group opposing Potomac Edison’s proposed 138 kilovolt power line, has appealed the Page County Planning Commission’s Feb. 3 approval of the route.
Potomac Edison’s proposed 22.9 mile line would link the Page substation in Luray to the north Shenandoah substation near Grove Hill.
The planners ruled that PE’s proposed eastern route complies with the county’s comprehensive plan.
According to Yvonne Johnson, chairman of PROPEL — Page Residents Opposed to Potomac Edison’s Line — the citizens group has 10 days to appeal the planner’s decision.
The Board of Supervisors will then have 60 days to consider the appeal.
