Dear Editor:

Our department pitched in to help Casey’s Backpacks with donations of items needed to fill Christmas break bags for the children of Stanley Elementary School. Members delivered the care packages [on Dec. 18] to the school.

Delivering donations to Stanley Elementary on Dec. 18 was Firefighter J.T Long, Fire Chief Jason Pettit, and President Terry Pettit.

Thank you to all members who contributed to Casey’s Backpacks mission and to the children of our community. Please consider donating to Casey’s Backpacks, this organization is a non-profit that works strictly on donations to make sure children in need in our community are taken care of. 

Donations may be made out to Casey’s Backpacks and mailed to P.O. Box 41 Stanley, VA 22851.
