January 7, 1892 — Christmas has come and gone and about it many pleasant memories cling.
During the holidays, Mr. Andrew Moyer, of your town, bore away one of our best girls in the person of Miss Flora Cullers, daughter of Mr. Joseph H. Cullers, of Compton, the Rev. H.L. Quarles officiating. We generally get the editor’s share of the cake, which on this occasion was excellent. We join with many friends in wishing the happy couple a long and prosperous life.
Miss Virgie Wood spent most of Christmas week with her friend, Miss Bessie Kemp, near Kimball.
Mr. Ashby Yates and wife of Front Royal visited his mother at this place during the holidays.
We regret to announce the serious illness of Mrs. Geo. O. Beylor, at her home near Oak Hill.
Mr. Joseph W. Keyser is visiting his brother, Capt. A.H. Keyser, near Honeyville.
Mr. R.B. Cullers, who is attending the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Baltimore, spent the holidays with his father, the Rev. Eli Cullers, near Rileyville.
The grippe has the grip on many of our citizens at this time. Mr. C.M. Keyser’s entire family, with one exception, is prostrated with it.
Mr. John A. Brumback has rented his father’s farm, and moved into the house lately occupied by F.C. Brumback, Esq.
