December 24, 1965 — Construction has begun on the new Stanley Post Office. Excavation has been completed and part of the wall is up.
Mrs. Frances J. Hannah, of Luray, is having the building constructed for lease to the Post Office Department.
The Baughan Construction Co. of Luray is doing the work. It is expected to be completed in late spring.
The building, located on U.S. 340, seven miles south of Luray, will cost an estimated $24,000.
The building will be leased to the Post Office Department for $2,100 a year for five years.
