Darrell Dewayne ‘Dolly’ Eppard

Age 71, Elkton, Va.

Darrell Dewayne Eppard, a.k.a., “Dolly”, “Wobbles” and “DD”, 71, of Elkton, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at his home. He was born on March 17, 1953 in the Jollett area of Page County and was the son of the late David and Wilda Virginia Lam Eppard. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Hazel and Percy Lam; brothers, David and Terry Eppard and a granddaughter, Seraphine Meadows.

Dolly was a carpenter for many years. He loved working with his hands and building things. He worked for Merck and E.A. Breeden. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and getting everyone together for social events with family and friends. He loved animals and was always bringing them home. He enjoyed the beach, sand, playing guitar, deep sea fishing and spending time with family. He taught many to play guitar and loved a good game of “Parcheesi” and playing pool. He had a hugh extended family that loved him dearly. 

His wife, Nancy Meadows Eppard, preceded him in death on June 26, 2014.

Dolly is survived by two daughters, Christy Gissing and Breoncha Meadows; brothers, Forrest “Toby” Eppard, Carlton “Squeaky” Eppard, Danny Eppard, Larry “Boot” Eppard; one sister, Julie”Sissy” Eppard; grandchildren, Pheonix and Adriana Gissing, Ryleigh Alexander Aurora, Anastasia, Layton and Elizabeth Meadows; great-grandchildren, Braxton Myers, Waylon Morse, Rowen Yager, Sterling Roberts. 

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 13, 2024 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Shenandoah Assembly of God Church in Shenandoah, followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Carter Dean officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton, Va.
