Deborah Lavonne Miller, 63, of Elkton, Va., passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at her home. Ms. Miller was born on November 4, 1959, in Page County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Elwood Raymond and Lucille Margaret “Stanley” Smith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Rickey Smith and a grandchild Zayda Mae Rohan.
Deborah worked in housekeeping at James Madison University for many years before retiring. She attended Kings Harbor Church in Elkton. Deborah enjoyed camping, trips to the beach, dancing at the VFW, and going to yard sales and thrifting with her daughter, Jordan. She also loved to cook and clean, and hosted many cookouts with friends and family. Deborah was a loving mother, grandmother, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Jordan Miller and fiancé, Zhanaik “Zeke” Rohan, April Smith, and Karen Lavonne Cardin; brothers, Timothy Smith and wife, Debbie; Thomas Smith and wife, Kimmy; a sister-in-law, Kathy Smith; grandchildren, Jamesy Singleton, Carson Miller, and a grandbaby on the way, Aycien “Ace” Zhanaik Lavonne Rohan; special friends, Janet-May Hensley, Carolyn Smith, Tammy Price, Kay Lam and husband Richard “Hop” Lam, and Rachael Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with Pastor Julian Shifflett officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to offset funeral expenses.
