Domino’s opens

Luray panoramic

April 7, 1986 — Domino’s Pizza, a Detroit-based empire specializing in home delivery, celebrated the grand opening of its Luray store with downtown giveaways, special offers and a 9-1/2 foot clown. Zippo, one Danny Weiss, was a visible attraction, performing juggling acts on stilts for passersby and boogieing to a Van Halen tune at Main and Broad streets. The Luray shop was just one in a series of appearances Weiss makes on behalf of Domino’s. He is scheduled to promote the Front Royal branch’s one-year anniversary.
