STANLEY — The Page County Extension Office plans to offer a four-week workshop titled “Developing a Whole Farm Plan” presented by Elizabeth Baldwin, Associate Extension Agent, ANR.
“We’ll cover a broad range of topics and decision-making tools for you to create a successful farm enterprise,” reads a flyer promoting the workshop. “Whether you are just exploring the opportunities available or already have an existing operation, you’ll learn what it takes to create, sustain, and grow a viable farm business.”
The workshop includes four two-hour sessions from 6 to 8 p.m. on four consecutive Thursday evenings in March and April. The first session is set for March 16, followed by sessions on March 23, March 30 and April 6. All workshop sessions will be held at the Page County Extension Office, 215 W. Main St., Suite C in Stanley.
“The goal of this workshop is to provide beginning and existing farmers with the planning, decision-making tools, and support necessary to develop a sustainable farm or food business,” the promotional flyer reads.
The cost of the workshop Is $40. This Includes a meal prior to each class, and all materials needed. Participants may pay by cash or check. Checks may be made payable to “Treasurer Virginia Tech” and be mailed or dropped off at the Page County Extension Office. A $50 fee will be charged for all returned checks. Pre-registration and payment are required by March 10.
