February 27, 1992 — Phase one of the new Luray Recreation Park off Sixth Street has been completed, according to Luray Parks and Recreation Director Pat O’Brien.
The 23- acre facility includes a lighted combination softball-football field, a Little League field and a concessions building.
“We’re probably going to start the men’s softball league the second or third week in April,” O’Brien said Tuesday.
“We want to let that sod (take root). Softball, Little League baseball and midget football games will be played at the new facility this year.”
