Age 83, Luray, Va.
Frances Lucretia Short, 83, of Luray, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Skyview Springs Nursing and Rehab.
She was born on August 7, 1942, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Fred Leroy Presgraves and Hallie Bumgardner Burner, and stepdaughter of the late Melvin K. Burner.
Frances is survived by two daughters, Linda Hilliard and husband Jeff, and Marcia Yvonne Short and companion Roger Bradley, all of Luray; a son, Calvin Wayne “Jug” Short of Shenandoah; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Lindsay, Megan, Takoda and Keith; and eight great-grandchildren, Aidan, Liam, Thomas, Julian, Alexis, Josiah, Atarah and Callen.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Wynn Presgraves.
Services are planned for a later date.
Arangements are being handled by The Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Va.
