Frederick Mahlon Everly, Jr., 85 passed away on April 11, 2021 in Luray, Virginia.
Funeral services will be held on April 16, 2021 at the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray, Virginia with pastor William Parkinson of the Way of Faith Assembly of God officiating. A private burial will follow at the Isiah Clem Cemetery in Fort Valley, Virginia.
Mr. Everly was born in Alexandria, Virginia to Frederick Mahlon Everly, Sr. and Nellie Michlebach Everly on June 25, 1935. Mr. Everly attended the University of Richmond on a football scholarship graduating in 1957. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Virginia in 1972. Mr. Everly wed Mrs. True Sue Ann Ashman on June 19, 1960 in Fairfax, Virginia. Mr. Everly worked as a teacher and later a guidance counselor at the Longfellow Intermediate School in Falls Church, Virginia for 30 years before retiring in 1989.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving three years as a Military Policeman, attaining the rank of Corporal. Upon his retirement from the Fairfax County Virginia school system, Mr. Everly owned and operated a small masonry business in Fairfax, Virginia for a number of years. He was a member of the Way of Faith Assembly of God in Fairfax, Virginia where he was very active in the church’s missionary programs building churches throughout Latin America including Mexico, Central and South America and the Caribbean.
Mr. Everly is survived by his wife of 60 years True Sue Ann Everly of Fairfax, Virginia, his sons Michael W. Everly and spouse Vickie of Manassas, Virginia, Matthew D. Everly of Leesburg, Virginia and two grandchildren Charles N. Everly of Leesburg and Jillian L. Everly of Manassas.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff at the Whispering Pines Assisted Living Facility in Luray, Virginia and Pastor William Parkinson from the Way of Faith Assembly of God in Fairfax, Virginia. A memorial service will be held at the Way of Faith Assembly of God at a later date.
