September 4, 1986 — Luray High received 13 points from junior point guard Sarah Getz and 10 from junior forward Donna McGrady and breezed to a 46-32 girls basketball victory over visiting Rappahannock Tuesday night.
“The kid had a real nice ball game, four assists, a couple of steals,” Coach Jim Logan said of Getz.
Luray pulled off 21 thefts in the game.
The Bulldogs — outscoring the Golden Eagles 19-4 in the third quarter — owned a 38-16 lead heading into the final eight minutes.
In the fourth quarter, Coach Jim Logan was afforded the luxury of letting the newcomers gain experience.
“We played excellent defense for the first three quarters and had eight kids score (on the night),” Logan said.
